IWMF2010 About IWMF

There is incredible potential in reducing the physical scale of numerous processes related to the manufacture of many forms of future dense "mechatronic" products and the manipulation of microscopic and nanoscopic objects and materials for the benefit of mankind. Small systems capable ofthese operations are referred to as "microfactories." A worldwide effort is currently underway to bring such microfactoriesto fruition.

After the previous successful International Workshops on Microfactories, which took place in Tsukuba, Japan in 1998, Fribourg, Switzerland in 2000, Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2002, Shanhai, China in 2004 and Besancon, France in 2006, Evanston, USA in 2008, the 7th International Workshop on Microfactories (IWMF2010) will be held on 24~27 October 2010 in Daejeon, Korea.

IWMF2010 will be an excellent forum for all fields of Microfactories from the following categories;

Microfactory Concepts
Micro-assembly, Micro-handling and Micro-robots
Metrology
Laser Micromachining and Micro-EDM
Micro-forming and Micro-extrusion
Advances in Controllers, Actuators and Sensors
Micromachining
Micro-manufacturing Applications
Microsystems for Mechatronic, Medical and Biotechnological Applications
Non-traditional/Alternate Processes
